CDC (& Lamot) Rupture Disc with Safety Relief Valve Combination

The picture above shows a common application of Continental Disc Corporation (CDC and Lamot Disc Products) rupture disc which is combined with Pressure Relief Valve on a process line. CDC (& LaMot Disc) products shown above are Burst Disc Indicator (BDI Alarm System), Rupture Disc and Enviro Guard. 

This type of CDC Rupture Disc (& LaMot Disc Products) and Safety Valve arrangement helps to prolong the service life of the safety valve and protects the environment. Without CDC Rupture Disc, the emission of process gas or fluid can be quite substantial through the Safety Valve. Furthermore the valve with out rupture disc protection will be subjected to the process medium corrosion and media accumulation.

According to ASME Sect VIII, when a rupture disc is installed upstream or downstream of a safety valve, a tell-tale indicator must be provided between the rupture disc and valve seat to indicate a burst or leaking rupture disc.

CDC Enviro Guard tough PTFE  coated/impregnated fiberglass material protects free vent rupture disc piping and safety relief valves outlets from unwanted foreign materials, rain, snow, insects or birds. The retrieval rope is an optional item and a Nomex drawstrings included secures the cover snug against the pipe.
